Words are everything, even in the global warming debate. TV personality Bill Nye the “Science Guy” told MSNBC’s Joy Reid to use the phrase climate change, not global warming, when it’s so cold out.
“Let’s not confuse or interchange climate change with global warming,” Nye told Reid on Monday. “Global warming – The world is getting warmer. There is more carbon [dioxide] holding in more heat.”
“So when the climate changes, some places get colder,” Nye added. “And the thing that’s really consistent with climate change models is this variance where it’s cold, it’s warm, it’s cold, it’s warm… So what I would hope for, my dream, Joy, is that you all, you and the news business would just say the word climate change.”
Nye’s remarks come as the U.S. is hit by another “arctic blast” that is sweeping through the Midwest and East Coast this week with temperatures plunging across the country. Tuesday’s highs are supposed to hit 10 to 20 degrees Fahrenheit across the eastern half of the country. . .

No smoking hot spot1. The greenhouse signature is missing. We have been looking and measuring for years, and cannot find it.
Each possible cause of global warming has a different pattern of where in the planet the warming occurs first and the most. The signature of an increased greenhouse effect is a hot spot about 10km up in the atmosphere over the tropics. We have been measuring the atmosphere for decades using radiosondes: weather balloons with thermometers that radio back the temperature as the balloon ascends through the atmosphere. They show no hot spot. Whatsoever.
If there is no hot spot then an increased greenhouse effect is not the cause of global warming. So we know for sure that carbon emissions are not a significant cause of the global warming. If we had found the greenhouse signature then I would be an alarmist again.

Bill Nye is like an Alan Alda, but without the sense of humor or humility. He takes himself way too seriously, to be a Mr. Science type. Science is rarely ‘settled’ once and for all.
Climate has been changing for Billions of years.
Why do you think ice age occurs regularly every 15,000 or so years? Why do you it is then followed by global warming and melt all that ice?
What is NOT happening is MAN made global warming/climate change.

I didn’t need to prove it because all you have to do is look at the historical record through the ages and there were times when the earth was in fact, much warmer than it is now or projected to be in the next 5 generations.

That's entirely new; it never happened before. Long ago we had something we called "the four seasons" but now it's climate change. Obviously a plot by the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy to ruin the ski industry.
Wait... so when it is winter here, it is like summer someplace else? Whoa! How long has that been going on? Like since we started using cars and making machines and stuff? Really? Whoa! So those seasons are like a totally new thing then. This science is amazing stuff. It makes me like smart inside my brain.
