San Jose police were hunting Monday for two men they believe are responsible for the shooting death of a security guard at an East San Jose liquor store over a stolen box of sweetened cigarillos, worth about $30.

Yep.
Swisher Sweets.
St Blunt stuffed pot into them after emptying them out.
the cigarillos are used as wrappers....for huge marijuana cigarettes as I understand it.
It is, but...my question is: why would anyone bother to post this as a news story? This happens, probably every 20 minutes in a city in the US. It’s just part of the fabric of the great Tapestry of life in the Urban centers. It’s so frequent and constant, its not much more than background noise.
I need a brick wall to pound my head against. It's that bad.
As I understand it, by unwrapping them and putting MJ in them but keeping the ends of the cigar filled with tobacco, it masks the smell of marijuana so you can smoke it in public without anybody being the wiser.
We want help looking for them so just grab anybody.
Well known fact.
Funny story.
I was at the local pump and munch a couple of years ago. I was standing in line behind a local Urban Troubadour who was attempting to buy a single, tipped cigar. An everyday occurrence. While it’s not illegal to purchase same, if you look to be too young to purchase tobacco, you must provide proof of age. An ID with your picture and DOB.
When asked for proof of age, he was confused. Bruce, the guy behind the counter, also the owner, said...”driver’s license”.
He replied that he didn’t have one.
Bruce says, “no ID, no sale”.
He digs around in his pockets until he produces a folded piece of paper that he presents to Bruce for examination. Bruce looks at it, folds it back up and sells the cigar to the young man.
He leaves and I now ask Bruce...”what the heck was that?”
“A copy of his latest booking slip”
He had just been released from the county lockup for drug possession.
"Crimestoppers? I have a picture of several people matching the description."
aha Thank you.
I remember some years ago in my area of western Wisconsin, there was a serious crime committed in one of the suburbs of La Crosse, but the cops in the suburb initially refused to give out any description of the suspects. After a few days of no results they relented and gave a description. The suspects were apprehended shortly after the release. Sometimes the police put handcuffs on themselves.
LOL!
Woulda worked for St Skittles, pre-GZ.
