All the Washington Post did was go to Wikipedia and pulled Rand Pauls bio. Investigative reporting .. another lie. Here is what Wikipedia says,
Paul attended Baylor University from fall 1981 to summer 1984 and was enrolled in the honors program. During the time he spent at Baylor, he was involved in the swim team and the Young Conservatives of Texas and was a member of a secret organization known as the NoZe Brotherhood.[22] Paul also regularly contributed to The Baylor Lariat.[20] Paul left Baylor early, without completing either his Bachelors degree in biology or in English[23], when he was accepted into the Duke University School of Medicine. At the time, Duke did not require an undergraduate degree for admission to its graduate school. He earned a M.D. degree in 1988 and completed his residency in 1993.[

So Rand Paul was in the honors program at Baylor University. He was so intelligent that Duke University accepted him without a degree... when he was close to getting his bachelors degree from Baylor. Finally Rand Paul attended and graduated with an MD from Duke University.
Thats what really happened and Im sure thats probably the case with many doctors in our society. Actually I did hear about this before with other doctors and thought of it as nothing unusual. It made me think wow that person must be really intelligent.
Duke accepted him without a degree because a degree wasn’t required back then; notsimply because Paul was awesome.
Thanks for the posting, as it clarifies that an undergrad degree isn’t required in all cases to receive a higher degree.
My BIL attended NTSU (now UNT) for three years after HS and was then accepted into medical school at UT Houston. After four years there, he earned his DDS.
