The Government Accountability Office added two more federal programs to its "high risk" list in a report released this week, bringing the total up to 32. Those high risk programs are ones the GAO deems to be extremely vulnerable to fraud, waste, abuse and mismanagement, putting billions of dollars of taxpayer money at risk.

Dirty little semi-secret that liberals won’t admit outright -
they’re OK with the fraud.

Just because a government program is a complete failure is no reason to end it.

With liberals it’s not about being right, it’s about FEELING righteous. They don’t care how badly a program does as long as it makes them FEEL good about themselves.

Here’s an actual conversation I had with a libinlaw:
I: “You know, liberals don’t really care how much fraud, abuse, and waste there is in a program as long as they feel that those who need help are getting it.”
LiL: “That’s outrageous! We do TOO care about the fraud and abuse!”
[pause, I swear it was only 2 heartbeats]
“But it’s more important that everyone who needs help gets it.”
I[mouth dropping]: “I just said exactly that!”
[pause]
LiL: “Let me think about that....”
...
LiL: “It just sounded so mean when you said it.”

I used to provide WSJ to clients. I changed to IBD because of the editorial page.

About 2008 I dropped the WSJ because the front page was just as pro-Obama as all the other mainstream news sources. I became an IBD fan, though I don’t have time to read the dead-tree version anymore.

However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results. Winston Churchill The two best things about government jobs are
- You get to spend other peoples' hard earned money and
- You never have to admit when you're wrong. you just say (no matter how obvious the failure) "we just didn't go far enough." i.e. when your poverty policy spends trillions and there are more people poor than before the answer is we just didn't take enough money from the earners and bestow it on the poor.
The liberal answer to every policy failure (and every liberal policy IS a failure) is to double down as if doing more of what at best didn't work or more likely made things worse will somehow reverse the effect.

They’ll deny it, but it’s a very selfish attitude to take.
Because it’s really NOT about helping the people in need.
It’s entirely about making the liberal feel self-righteous for advocating that people be helped.
Otherwise, they’d actually be concerned about the HARM that these programs do to people.
They’re not, so, ipso facto QED, it’s about their own self-righteousness.

They are very selfish people.
No doubt they lied on their kids’ financial college statements; when out of work for a while, the husband milked the extended benefits for all they were worth. He’s done that several times in the past, too.

It was an instant knee-jerk reaction to oppose anything a conservative says.
