A spokesman for SHA said that overpass above Suitland Road is one of 82 "structurally deficient" bridges, out of 2,576 bridges maintained and owned by SHA.Many bridges and dams are past their life expectancies. The life expectancy of many dams are 50 years and many were built by the CCC in the 1930s and there was another big push in the 1950s. We're living on borrowed time.

This is a big issue here in the NYC metro area; things are falling apart and there is no money to fix them. Trying to raise the money just chases more companies (and the American taxpayers that work for them) out of NYC/NJ.
