Generally the per mile equivalent costs are much cheaper for electricity - about 1/3rd when gas is at $3.50/gallon and burning coal is one of the cheaper ways to produce electricity.

Well, gasoline is $1.79/gallon, and coal fired powerplants are being regulated out of existence. Any other ways to justify this waste of money?
