You want to see segregation? Look at the racial "diversity" of the private schools the elite send their schools to in SF.
Lilly whites at work. White students attend white schools, black students attend Oakland schools.

A friend found an awesome house with property in a county with a majority black population. His near genius children were beaten up so frequently at the majority black school that the teachers had to stand next to them at the bus stop. But then they had to ride the bus to and from. He moved to the county where he worked and into a very expensive white neighborhood with no property to speak of so his kids could attend school in relative safety. It was an expensive lesson in the negative value of diversity.
Some parents just don’t want their kids to get the crap beat out of them just because their white.
San Francisco had busing too, in the 60s-70s, and it had the same effect as Boston. School district enrollment fell by almost half in a decade. My wife was one of those bused.
Most SF private schools are very diverse, especially the Catholic parochials. More so than most public schools.
The article is basically obtuse. The “best” schools in San Francisco aren’t white at all, they are Chinese. And most of these Chinese kids and their parents aren’t rich at all, they are largely FOBs (fresh off the boat). Rich second generation ones run to the suburbs.
Schools aren’t better due to better resources but better students.
There are very very few white students in the school district, less than 15%. And for that matter very few black students either as most of the old black population has been driven out by high rents, the remainder are largely in public housing.
The real split is Asian/Hispanic. Nobody wants to mention that.
Yes, birds of a feather flock together. That’s just the human condition. Unless you force Red birds to sit with Blue birds they won’t do it.
I have a question;
Why do certain ethnic groups self segregate? Where they live, where they socialize, where they shop, etc.
Is it nature or does our government force them?
For one reason, Parents tend to not want their kids to go to schools with gang problems.
Why is this such a big deal?
