By the way -The reporting on “Pa is the only state without a severance tax..” is wrong. There are local taxes on gas drilling but they are designed to stay local. Also... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Severance_tax_legislative_history_in_California Perhaps Wikipedia is wrong, but I doubt it.
