GSA needs to speak out against this immediately, otherwise they are party to a takeover of a brownie troop for racist and political purposes...
Groups like GSA are incredibly protective of their trademarks. Trademark infringement that goes unchallenged results in that trademark being abandoned under the law. It’s why Coca-Cola, and many other companies, employ secret shoppers to make sure that their trademarks (like “Coke”) aren’t being used in the generic (to order Pepsis).
GSA actually has a legal obligation to challenge this. If they don’t then ant group out there can start using the term “Brownie” for young girls groups.
If this was a white group calling itself “Aryan Brownies” the GSA would have already sent a C&D and made very public statements about doing so, threatening (and prepping for) legal action for non compliance.
