Netflix launches in Cuba

Netflix on Monday launched its streaming service in Cuba, the latest sign that economic relations between the United States and the island nation are thawing.

The service will be available for $8 a month to residents with credit cards and access to high-speed Internet.

Cuba is a poor country. I saw a report from a British couple that did a tour of the island and its like a country trapped in the 1950s.

Time has stood still despite revolutionary slogans. The only thing more ubiquitous than progress is the omnipresence of the Castro brothers.

Bringing Netflix to Havana won’t open up Cuba.
