(Reuters) - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has approved the purchase of 24 Rafale fighters, a Fremm frigate and MBDA missiles from France in a deal worth more than 5 billion euros ($5.64 billion), Le Monde newspaper reported on Tuesday.

The arms contract could be officially signed on Wednesday or Thursday, Le Monde reported without saying where it obtained the information.

Officials from Egypt's army and the presidency could not immediately be reached for comment. A French government official also declined comment.

Dassault Aviation, which builds the Rafale, declined to comment. This would be the first export deal for the fighter jet.

Laurent Collet-Billon, the head of France's DGA defense procurement agency, said on Monday that he was "relatively optimistic" of securing a deal to sell arms to Egypt including Rafales.

Makes sense. The Egyptians (once the US Kingpin ally in the Arab Middle East) has been abandoned by the Abomination Administration, not once, but twice! All the diplomatic work done 1973-2011 went down the drain. Al-Sisi (what a name for a General!) knows that the US is a reliable and shaky partner so he's turning to the Russians, Chinese, French and anybody else he can RELY on. Abomination has shown that he clearly sides with the Muslim Brotherhood. Egypt, Israel and Jordan are US allies but they know that under this President, they need to help each other now, more than ever. America? Well she's back in the days of Lindbergh’s Appeasement and Isolation frame of mind.

Obama wouldn’t sell Egypt parts to their F16 and other gear, they have no choice. Egypt may as well sell these F16 to Israel, then use the cash to buy French planes, a win win for both countries having problems with working with Obama

“...having problems with working with Obama”

???

“Problems”?! How about a DISASTEROUS relationship?

This is a key time in history and it will eventually show that Abomination endangered the West to unprecedented levels, more than the October 1962 Missile Crisis.
Where not there yet but everything this Abomination does goes awfully bad and we have not seen the end of it yet.

France screws Russia—The French got the deal—not Putin. Sad that Obama/Muslim Brotherhood has wrecked all of our hard work. One bad president can do a heck of a lot of damage. Maybe its for the best—Egypt needs to get on with her life—maybe it will draw Egypt and Israel closer together (as they should be) to face a common threat of IS. Still, with a little bit of skill, Putin could recover and get a foothold in Egypt. Maybe he could help them seize Lybia and Sudan? he isn’t adverse to the idea of a strong nation taking over weak ones.

And it's not as if Egypt never flew French Mirage 2000 jets, either.
