Senator Marco Rubio has hired a coveted former aide to Mitt Romney to oversee his political activities in the Northeast and probably in a New Hampshire campaign, signaling that he is serious about a presidential bid.
Jim Merrill, who directed both of Mr. Romneys New Hampshire primary bids, is joining Mr. Rubios political action committee as a senior adviser, a position that would put him at the helm of the Florida senators campaign in the first-in-the-nation primary state.

Rubio is a good alternative for the GOPe. On the issues they care about he is one of them. But Rubio in meaningless speeches throws out red meat to the GOP base.

RE:”

If he got it Dems would use the McCain strategy against him, constantly complaining how the ‘good’ Rubio is gone and the ‘bad’ Rubio got the nomination, as they did with McCain in 2008.

First time I saw him I said Wow.
After that I got suspicious of him. The more he spoke the more wary I’ve gotten.
Right now I don’t trust him at all.
