Snow sets historic records in Boston Boston breaks record for snow in 30 days

The "snowmaggedon" of the past two weeks will almost certainly move Boston into the top 10 snowiest winters of all time Monday.

"It's like the Energizer Bunny. It just keeps going," said Storm Team 5 meteorologist Cindy Fitzgibbon.

The seemingly never-ending snowfall will give Boston over 73 inches for the winter, passing the 72.9 inches that fell during the winter of 1903-1904.

As of 7 a.m., 66.3 inches had fallen this winter season at Logan Airport, where snow is officially measured.

"For the past 14 days it seems like we have had a constant snow removal operation in Boston," said Boston Mayor Marty Walsh.

Boston also set a record with the most snow in 30 days with 60.8 inches.

The prior record was the 58.8 inches that fell before, during and after the Blizzard of 1978. However, this time that record was set in 17 days, not 30.

Gotta love the comments on this story. Most of those viewers who posted have figured out that "global warming" is nothing but a scam even quoting from a researcher who was later exposed during "Climategate":

"Within a few years, winter snowfall will become a very rare and exciting event. Children just aren’t going to know what snow is.” --Dr. David Viner, senior scientist at Britain’s University of East Anglia’s climatic research unit, forecast in 2001.

NWS is saying that two more large storms could hit Boston within the next seven days, one on Thursday and Friday, and the other on Sunday. After that, there will be record cold.

I too am awash in global warming. I was just out shoveling and snowblowing it. I have to admit it sure does look nice on the trees.

This latest ‘storm’ has been a ‘bust’ north of Manchester in soviet Red Hampshire...MAYBE five or six fluffy inches, at best. Comments on the internet are imploring local media to ‘grow a pair’...ROTFLMAO!

"I know people are frustrated with (some of the) the snow piles. Logistically there is no way to get to some of them," said Walsh.

Yeah there is. Drive those SUVs, fire up them coal-burning power plants, leave your lights on all night. We gotta ramp up that Global Warming!!

Wonder how they like shoveling all that “global warming”? Maybe they can just wait for those rising temperatures to melt the snow for them. LOL

The fact that liberal Boston is having to deal with a severe winter is poetic justice.

You mean the commenters aren’t buying the story that all this extreme winter weather IS caused by global warming?

Sometimes reality just slaps you upside the head and all the theories go out the window.

Yeppers...just wait until the next major southern city is hit by two or three inches...they'll be out like locusts.
