For twenty-two years....I was ‘forced’ to take the yearly flu shot by the Air Force. Typically, the twenty-four hours after the shot...I always had a fever and felt run-down. Over the twenty-two years....I suffered around twenty bouts of the flu anyway...mostly the twenty-four to forty-eight hour bug. I’ve had the serious five-to-seven day bug once in that entire period.
When I retired in 1999 from the military...I said ‘enough’ and refused to take the shot. In fifteen years, I’ve had two minor bouts of flu, without the shot.
Maybe it’s just luck, but I simply don’t buy into flu shot having any effective nature. Course, I won’t say that for the tetanus shot, or any of the three or four shots I had as a kid (polio for example). I still think they have legit positives. The other forty new types of vaccinations? I’m not sure about. After the military’s use of the anthrax vaccination...I don’t buy into the gimmick. Same for Ebola, as we’ve proven that you can get first class care, with drugs already available on the market, keep ourselves hydrated, and survive without a vaccination.
The flu shots are one such scenario. It's a best guess in trying to fight a new strain so effectiveness is a gamble at best. Some people may benefit or be entirely unaffected, where others are impacted more by the other inactive contents of the serum. t
