Republican and Democratic leaders in Congress will face some resistance to a vote to authorize President Barack Obama’s war against Islamic State militants despite international outrage over video of militants beheading their captives and burning one alive.

War authorizations are among the most difficult issues to confront members of Congress. Several Democrats will be reluctant to approve new war powers unless there is a clear deadline or some way to pay for the military operation. Some Republicans, strong foes of the president, will object to giving Obama the authority.

Obama is poised in coming days to ask Congress for new authority to use U.S. military force against IS, the White House said Thursday. But the top House Republican warned it won’t be easy to pass the measure. Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, said it will be up to the president to rally support from lawmakers and the public. …

I wouldn’t trust giving Obama dog sitting privileges, let alone letting him hurt our service men and women-—and he will do it on purpose to thin their ranks.

Resistance should be based on whether there is a clear goal and how much pork the democrats try to pack into it.

We’re in a tough spot. Our recent weakness has allowed our enemies to become quite strong.

This country cannot properly battle ISIS and the others unless the commander in chief can legally execute attacks.

But the commander in chief is, at best, inept at using our military and at worst is an outright supporter of our enemies.

In my opinion, there is only one solution.

Congress needs to impeach the son of a bitch and remove him from office.

Even Joe Biden knows who this country’s enemies are. With Obama out of the way, he would be freed up to actually publicly acknowledge that fact and then DO something about it. And even as much as I dislike him, I think he would do something.

I hate the idea of Biden being the incumbent in 2016. But I hate even more the idea that we are running out of time, and that if something is not done soon, we will have dithered around until it is too late to stop ISIS and their evil friends without an all-out, world-wide, honest-to-God, WAR.
