I’ve argued for a long time that the inquisition(s) were the first stirrings of due process. Previously, it was the torches and pitchforks, the lynchings - then the Church stepped in and gave you a trial and then burned you alive. I know, not a huge difference to the person being burned alive but still, at least he/she got that day in court.
Also that the Crusades were a defensive war. Great stuff. I always enjoy Jonah’s perspective.

these cretins are not logical...they do not think like you and I. we cannot apply our logic to their thought processes, and then lament why they do not follow it, or act in a logical, predictable manner..predictable to us, as it were.
Though I’ve never heard that explanation, it makes total sense.
Most of anti-semitism throughout history has the same root as our modern cries of “white privilege”.
People who follow certain ethics and behaviors tend to prosper, and those who refuse to follow those ethics and behaviors see their prosperity as unearned, and therefore justifiably punishable.

I've been trying to make the point for years that the only good Muslim is a bad Muslim; i.e., one who does not follow the dictates of all the verses of the Quran.
Christians INT THE PAST have performed atrocities IN CONTRADICTION to their scripture.
Muslims CURRENTLY perform atrocities in CONFORMITY with their scripture.

Who ever said Obama was logical?
Those of us who follow the man know he is emotionally tied to all his racist African ideas of his father and Islam. They live in his head. They drive his thinking.
He acts “cool and collected” but his world view is that the US is an evil, imperialist country, he romanticizes Africa and elevates black races over others and he is in love with the idea of Islam in his heart of hearts. He never says it, but all you have to do is watch what he does and listen to what he DOESN’T say and look at all his priorities. It’s clear as day. That’s why he’s so destructive.
So it’s not logic guiding him. It’s emotion. I learned a long time ago simply because a person doesn’t raise their voice doesn’t mean there’s not a storm going on inside.
