"..... the National Rifle Association is facing off not against big national gun-control groups, but against many of the state’s towns and cities, in a brazen push to get them to repeal their gun-related laws."

Someone asked me from another post if anyone is a proponent of gun violence. I replied that of course the NRA is and lo and behold I stumble on this piece (o S) from slate mag. Right there in the title they use the words "diabolical" and "killing" then they're are accused of being "brazen" to dump stupid non-effective gun laws. Ergo; liblogic pro gun violence.

That dastardly NRA, trying to take things to the local level when all truly educated types know that the Federal Gubmit is the only place where rules should be made.

Make our day, MSM.

Freedom scares the hell out of totalitarian statists. Slate should change their name to State.

Hoplophobes call the NRA a “special interest group.”

That’s not an adjective liberals attach to Planned Parenthood or public employee unions.

this local overrides are what the communists/socialists used to attack the second amendment. They used illiterate city/municipal attorneys to abide by the philosophy of “all is legal until a judge stops us”. Essentially counting on the fact their deep pockets were a club that would beat citizens into submission.

Liberals believe local communities should be able to eviscerate your Second Amendment rights.

And they complain about the NRA putting a stop to it.

That’s chutzpah squared.

Libs didn’t have any problems with “all politics are local” when Tip O’Neill said it.

Someone asked me from another post if anyone is a proponent of gun violence. I replied that of course the NRA is . . .

I am also a proponent of gun violence. When a thug decides that he can physically overpower my daughters, my wife, my mother, or myself and my brothers as we get older, I am 100% in favor of gun violence. Non-gun violence by a large, well-prepared criminal should be met with gun violence from the intended victim. God made men, but Samuel Colt made them equal.

Heard a blurb on the cbs-affiliated radio in Philly about a would-be robber who was killed by his intended victim: The robber had a plastic gun, the victim had a real one. Right now, there are no charges to be filed against the survivor. But given today’s political climate, that could change in the next half hour.

And freedom for the Nation’s Socialist-leftists means subjugating YOU.

Freedom is lost unless they can dictate how you live your life.

There’s a saying: Liberals don’t care what you do as long as it’s Mandatory.

In the midst of all the buzzwords, Slate barely touches upon the central issue.

The NRA went into a state (PA) with a gun preemption law, and is forcing towns and municipalities to (gasp!) follow the law.

In my home, Washington state, this is accomplished by ordinary citizens who take it upon themselves to become freedom activists. OpenCarry.com has a lot of posts involving cities and counties getting called on illegal anti-gun postings in parks and public places. The cities always cave, because big-bucks Seattle got taken to the woodshed by WSC, in that the preemption law really means what it says.
