US: ‘Patently false’ that Biden conspired against Venezuela

The United States dismissed an accusation from Venezuela’s president that Vice President Joe Biden conspired to overthrow him as “patently false,” arguing Monday that President Nicolas Maduro was merely trying to distract the world’s attention from his government’s abuses of basic rights.

The exchange of barbs undermined hopes that the U.S. and Venezuela could pursue improved ties following a rapid deterioration of relations last year. Just one month ago, Maduro and Biden shook hands in Brazil in an impromptu meeting in which both leaders expressed an interest in warmer relations.

In a televised address over the weekend, Maduro claimed that Biden sought to foment the overthrow of his socialist government during a Caribbean energy summit Biden hosted last month in Washington. According to Maduro, Biden told Caribbean heads of state that the Venezuelan government’s days were numbered and it was time they abandon their support. …

I have to agree on this one. Biden likely couldn’t find Venezuela on a map. I’m not even sure he can find a map.

Not really in a way. This is a method.

The US government is willing to embrace Castro so that it can share the lack of criticism from the people as Castro enjoys, except that Castro then is still in a position to attack the US and shut liberals up.

Venezuela and illegals are knocking on liberal doors now, mready to oust them.

Should be rejected as patently hilarious.

The funniest comment in history?

Joe Biden saying, "Okay folks, I'm here to outline a plan for overthrowing the Venezuelan government."

What is more disturbing is the US government is not counter attacking Maduro, but insisting it loves him... And the only energy they have is directed against conservatives making comments on Venezuela that would be critical of US relations policies there in the first place.

I highly doubt that an American socialist politician would have any interest in overthrowing a socialist regime.

I understand that in their discussion with maduro they said “Hey, you’ve met joe, do you really think he’s smart enough?”

I'd have to say that Biden has done a fine job of "overthrowing" his own reputation. But Maduro has done nothing more than finish off the mess Chavez left him and has run the country completely into the ground on his own. He doesn't need Biden's help for that. High inflation, dramatically reduced oil revenues, failure to keeps the stores stocked with even the basic necessities, nationalizing foreign corporations and running off many others. He needs Biden to blame for his failures, much like Obama needs the Republicans to blame for his.

Revolution is fomenting and starting to bubble in the pot in Venezuela. Soon, blood will run in the streets and Maduro's time will end. He will be out of office within a year. Biden can't even manage to keep his foot out of his mouth. Trying to overtly conspire to overthrow Maduro is a bit over his skill level.

Biden likely couldn't find Venezuela on the map

Biden found Ukraine on the map well enough for his son to become a high paid employee of a Ukrainia oil corporation. Do you really think these DC types don't get economic benefit from regime change?

Yup. Can’t see an administration figure doing anything to injure their compadres in Venezuela. After all, they created the future Obama strives for.
