The interesting thing is, I had measles as a yut...it was an accepted part of life back then, no big deal...is this like the worst snowstorm in the history of mankind that we just had in New Yawk?

Close, but no...

It is how the Zombie Apocalypse REALLY started, and NO ONE knows it yet...

But they will...

yeah, it's the anti-vaccine people, not the unvaccinated illegal immigrants...

One can't help but wonder how many people there are who are opposed to some vaccines but supported the invasion of the US by Central American hordes.

And what about the current "thinking"? Ebola is let in the US, with the hope (1) it won't spread and (2) if it does, we'll be burdened with another vaccine with no knowledge of long term effects.

What's passing for news is more despicable than usual. It's become all-propaganda, all-the-time to bully people into getting vaccinations.

Your graph does indicate that there should be an investigation into if there’s a correlation between autism and organic food. Do you know what percentage of children who are autistic eat organic foods or have parents who eat organic foods?

Nope, not a clue. I report, you decide.

My choice is to ignore that chart unless a correlation is documented. Other things that increased over that time are the use of high fructose corn syrup as a sweetener, chemicals added to foods, the use of microwaves and levels of antibiotics in dairy and meat production.

Thousands of Americans died or had serious complications yearly from Measles before the vaccine. That is why the vaccine was so immediately popular even before schools required it. Americans today have forgotten these deaths.

What is the big deal? I had measles in college and it was not much more than a rash. By the time my roommate and I realized we had measles, it was over. Of course we were young and healthy but it was just not a big deal. I had mumps in 6th grade. I felt fine. My mother made me stay home from school until the swelling went down. But it was just about nothing, I felt just fine. I still remember arguing with my mom about having to miss school, I never felt sick with Mumps. I had chicken pox in 2nd grade and I remember being at a party, feeling hot and sleepy, I curled up on a sofa and fell asleep. Woke up and broke out. Other than the itching C pox was almost nothing. Shingles a year or two ago, now that was BAD! but what is the big deal about measles? And yes I did have measles, I tested that I had had measles in a blood test in 1980.

Sounds like you also had Whooping Cough at the same time.

There are two kinds of measles, the 3 day and the 10 day. The three day is nothing big but the 10 day can be disastrous. I knew someone who was pregnant and got 10 days measles, baby was born with a muscle missing in right arm and was born deaf. Most people make it through just fine but some do not.

Ten-day measles: An acute highly contagious viral disease with fever, runny nose, cough, red eyes, and a spreading skin rash, the measles (also known as rubeola) is a potentially disastrous disease. It can be complicated by ear infections, pneumonia, encephalitis (that can cause convulsions, mental retardation. and even death), the sudden onset of low blood platelet levels with severe bleeding (acute thrombocytopenic purpura) or a chronic brain disease that occurs months to often years after an attack of measles (subacute sclerosing panencephalitis).

I think a lot of high IQ, engineering types are somewhere on the Autism spectrum. Which makes me think its normal for a certain brain constructs and personality types. As we need these types in society I can’t understand why the lower end of the spectrum is even considered outside the norm. I guess because they annoy some.

My now grown son thanks me every time he sees me for not allowing the school to drug him when he was a child.

Public schools have decided on a terribly narrow construction for “normal” in children. The entire extended family is paying for my grandson to be in a private school for gifted, because he was more trouble than the public school system wanted to deal with.

I was very fortunate that we didn’t have computers in homes when I was a kid. I was forced to read to entertain myself, which I could do sitting on my bed and rocking.

Now we say “You child has a problem. Feed the problem so it can grow bigger.”

Correct. My next oldest sister lost most of her hearing. A couple of my cousins suffered complications and died. Adults who caught measles often suffered severe complications and had to be hospitalized. Look up the consequences of a pregnant woman and measles.

I was so grateful that my children did not have to deal with this disease.

And our children will now never be neurologically normal.

Studies have shown that half of the posters on FR are below normal when compared to ALL those that use this site.

...we'll be burdened with another vaccine with no knowledge of long term effects.

Studies have shown that thousands of folks who have gotten immunized against this or that; have died.

Some in horrible ways.

The studies have indicated that ALL who have gotten shots will also die.

Whatever shall we DO???

Americans today have forgotten these deaths.

Nothing new under the sun...

I'd like to thank the United States Government for protecting me and my kind.

You see, 40 years ago, my odds of making it out of the egg, alive, were very poor; about 80% of us died.

But a lady discovered our plight and wrote a book that addressed our problem,
and, in 1972, a law was ammended protecting us even further. (http://www.fws.gov/midwest/eagle/protect/laws.html)

What I find strange is that the same government passed a law the very next year that allowed for killing
of unborn, and apparently unwanted, humans.  Little ones still nestled safely in their Mother's womb.
Around 25% of them are dying before birth - on average nearly 3,300 - every day of the year.

I hear that by now, somewhere around 57 MILLION of them have perished.
Wouldn't that kind of mess up the humans plans for growth, and welfare, and
retirement?

Strange birds; these Homo Sapiens.  Perhaps they'll come to their senses
before they are ALL dead!
