Speaking of flex-fuel vehicles and ethanol: couple of years ago I flew to Iowa on business, and at the rental car counter was made to sign an agreement NOT to use E85 under any circumstance, on pain of being charged thousands of dollars for a complete removal, flushing, and replacement of the car's fuel system.

I thought it ironic that the very people who have forced this mandate on the rest of us recognize the effects and try to insulate themselves from it.

Speaking of the people who forced this mandate on us, federal government fleet vehicles are subject to very rigid policies requiring use of alternative / renewable fuels. Except for when the nearest E85 or Biodiesel pump is fifteen or more miles away - in which case the Dept. Of Energy issues a waiver. Nice, huh?

At the Fort Campbell, KY Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH) there a 5 or six handicapped parking spaces for vehicles specifically for flex fuel cars. Other cars who use regular gas and have handicapped license plates or cards that they hang on they mirror do too. The parking spaces are close to the Outpatient entrance of the Hospital. They have other handicapped parking spaces but they are farther away and if you have to use a cane like I have to it’s very hard
