Eli Jacks is too young to be vaccinated; his sister has leukemia Measles cases that have spread to Arizona have put the children at risk (CNN)Anna Jacks checks her baby's forehead over and over again. Is he hot? Does he have a rash? Is his nose still runny?
Her son has been sick before, but this time it's different: Last week Eli was at a Phoenix Children's Hospital clinic with a woman who had the measles, which spreads easily from person to person. Now he's showing signs of the virus, such as runny nose and cough and fatigue.
At 10 months old, Eli is too young to get vaccinated and would be especially vulnerable to serious complications of measles, such as deafness and brain damage or even death. But his parents have an even bigger worry. If Eli does have the measles, he could give it to his 3-year-old sister, Maggie, who has leukemia.
So far Maggie is feeling fine, but her parents know that with her immune system wiped out by chemotherapy she's even more vulnerable than her brother to complications.
"My biggest fear is that I'll lose my child, or that she'll become deaf," Anna Jacks said. "My family has been through enough with cancer. I don't want her to go through anything else."
Measles cases in California soar
According to Arizona health officials, the woman at the clinic who put the Jacks children in danger was herself infected by members of a family that doesn't vaccinate and got measles during a visit to Disneyland, where the outbreak began more than a month ago.
This week, Maggie and Eli's father, Dr. Tim Jacks, wrote a blog post in which he expressed his feelings to this family.
"Towards you, unvaccinating parent, I feel anger and frustration at your choices,"

Remember when there were quarantines for people with infectious diseases? (I don’t, but my mother does.)
Isn’t “Our Diversity” wonderful? The diseases being brought into this country are absolutely amazing!
>>We are headed for some HUGE issues regarding personal health choices.<<
Yes, stupidity and risking the lives of others is certainly a choice. If you forgo inoculations you should be required to keep your kids away from all other people permanently.
>>Will you comply when Obama makes immunizations mandatory through an Executive Order?<<
It is required in almost all school districts. I agree it isn’t a federal issue yet, but a few knuckleheads may make it so.
What makes these measles really nasty is that they are the “Barry’s Kids unaccompanied refugee” strain of measles normally found only in Guatemala, Mexico, Honduras and El Salvador.
Back in the 1980's I helped vaccinate children in remote areas of Uganda for protection against measles, TB and polio. These were semi-nomadic tribes, following the available grasslands with their herds of cattle, goats and donkeys. Very difficult & primitive living conditions.
Yet when we arrived in one cattle camp we learned from the chief that they had several cases of measles and those children had been isolated about 100 yards from the main camp.
During the '80's, Kenya kept fairly good records of the effects of measles. These showed that measles killed about 35,000 children each year.
(BTW, when I was in high school, we had an elderly friend who developed TB and was quarantined in her home.)
From the article, “But Dr. Jack Wolfson said it’s the Jacks family who should keep themselves at home, not him.
Wolfson, an Arizona cardiologist, refuses to vaccinate his two young sons. He said the family that didn’t vaccinate and endangered the Jacks children did nothing wrong.
“It’s not my responsibility to inject my child with chemicals in order for [a child like Maggie] to be supposedly healthy,” he said. “As far as I’m concerned, it’s very likely that her leukemia is from vaccinations in the first place.”
“I’m not going to sacrifice the well-being of my child. My child is pure,” he added. “It’s not my responsibility to be protecting their child.”
CNN asked Wolfson if he could live with himself if his unvaccinated child got another child gravely ill.”
I am amazed at the way parents who chose not to vaccinate are being vilified.
I believe it is a parents ultimate right to decide if their children are vaccinated.
With the corruption at the CDC, I for one will not recommend that my grand children get vaccinated.

Along with causing other major problems from bringing in thousands of Illegals, Obama can now take credit for their health issues being OUR health issues.
Lets see how “pure” his child is when she gets the measles. i sure wouldn’t want this guy as my doctor.
I had measles as a kid and it was really nasty.
Following are quotes of what William Thompson CDC Whistle-blower has said regarding the Autism/Vaccine connection but families who do not trust the CDC and the supposed “safe vaccines” are vilified.
“Oh my God, I did not believe that we did what we did, but we did. Its all there This is the lowest point in my career, that I went along with that paper. I have great shame now when I meet families of kids with autism, because I have been part of the problem.”
“Weve missed ten years of research because the CDC is so paralyzed right now by anything related to autism. Theyre not doing what they should be doing because theyre afraid to look for things that might be associated.
I certainly wouldn’t be treated by that doctor, he sounds like a vicious imbecile. I would have asked him how he’d feel if his “pure” child contracted a vaccine preventable disease and died or was permanently disabled by it.
But you survived and are a functioning adult, as evidenced by your post. :)
Many children have been injured/died as a result of the supposed safe vaccines. If the number of children injured by vaccines were compared to say a faulty stroller that hurt children-the stroller would be recalled. Not so with vaccines.
The federal vaccine court handles the cases and then seals them so a precedent cannot be set. More federal cover-up and corruption.
While you may think the doctor is an imbecile, I don’t believe he is. He might be one of the few doctors actually paying attention to the corruption at the CDC.
9/17/14 - Autism Media Channel releases more audio from the Thompson phone calls in which Thompson says that the CDC is 10 years behind on autism, because it is paralyzed by what it might find if proper investigation was undertaken. He calls for Congressional hearings and an independent investigation of the CDC’s actions. The video closes with Thompson saying, “I have a boss who is asking me to lie... I have basically stopped lying.”
A good synopsis of the corruption is available here: http://healthchoice.org/index.php/news/122-outline-of-significant-developments-in-the-recent-revelations-on-vaccine-safety-research-corruption

I remember when I had the measles as a kid. It ran its course and I recovered just fine. It can be serious, however the push for mandatory vaccination has had consequences as well.
Thanks illegals.

I had measles as a child. I think it must have been during an era when no one vaccinated for that. I stayed home with a rash for ten days. Nothing very severe, but my younger brother and sister both got blood in their urine and a doctor came to our house to see them. Either it was a time when house calls were more common or maybe it was that exposed children were kept isolated and could not go to the hospital.
Never really gave it much thought, although later I did get a shingles shot since those who have had measles can get shingles.
I had mumps, too. Back then I think it was just small pox and tetanus that kids were vacinnted for.
