Evening Ma, my dear old Dad use to tell me not to get old, apparently I didn’t listen.
Hello Everybody!
((((HUGS)))))
Hi darlin’! Growing older is h@ll but it beats the alternative.
A warrior died yesterday, Kathy.
WWII Vet Lloyd Jack Unger passed away at 91 years old. Signing up right after Pearl Harbor, Jack served through the entire war and nearly 2 years afterwards. Reaching the rank of Chief Petty Officer, Jack was a staunch supporter of our troops and a true credit to the greatest generation. Having the distinction of serving on one of the vessels deployed to Yalta in support of the Big Three Conference in Feb 1945, nearly 70 years ago, Jack was able to actually witness Stalin in his motorcade. A close friend from his ship, assigned to the presidential honor detail during negotiations, said that Stalin insisted on vodka and toasting. FDR inked an agreement dividing up the world when stone cold drunk is Jacks story...on the authority of a best friend.
Jack served in both theaters on minesweepers, small wooden hulls, guaranteed to turn your stomach and invigorate your adrenalin.
To Jack Unger: You were solid brother. A solid Christian. A solid husband and father. A solid defender of our great nation. We salute you, Chief Unger.
Good evening, Pro...((HUGS))...your dear old Dad was a wise man.
A Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Did you and Zach make the movies today?
My wife, Janet, bought me a new Dreadnought D-35 guitar for my 65th birthday. Originally developed in the early 1900s, the Dreadnought style is larger than most guitars designed during that time, and its known for its bold and loud tone. It was named after the large World War I British battleship the HMS Dreadnought. The back of the D-35 is unique. Because of the shortage of wide pieces of high quality rosewood, the craftsmen innovatively fit three smaller pieces of wood together, which resulted in a richer tone.
Gods workmanship is a lot like that innovative guitar design. Jesus takes fragments and blends them together to bring Him praise. He recruited tax collectors, Jewish revolutionaries, fishermen, and others to be His followers. And down through the centuries Christ continues to call out people from varied walks of life. The apostle Paul tells us, He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love (Eph. 4:16 nlt).
In the Masters hand many kinds of people are fit together and are being built into something with great potential for praise to God and service for others.
INSIGHT
: The unity of believers is an important topic for Paul. He spends a great deal of time in several different letters talking about the goal and the purpose of unity (1 Cor. 12; Eph. 4; Phil. 2). In Ephesians 4, Paul says the ultimate goal of all believers is to measure up to the full and complete standard of Christ (v.13 nlt).
No movie yet, we’ll watch the Super Bowl tomorrow and the movie soon.

I’m not old, just BETTER!!!!

I’m 82 and will not spend one second reflecting on growing older. I’d rather spend that time watching a good movie.
