If not for affirmative action, Mr. Blow would be emptying wastebaskets at a junior high school in Kansas. And probably doing a half-a’ed job at that.

Forgive me, but I can't help but wonder: Given the absence of intelligence and simple common sense demonstrated by the father, how is it that young Mr. Blow came to be a student at Yale.

I suspect the answer would not credit either the father, the son...or the institution.

I have a friend who throws a local paper. They also throw the NYTimes on the same route. The blue bagged paper is always affectionately referred to as ‘the commie rag’.
