In GOP Presidential Contest, Peter King’s Race for Second Place

The gruff Republican from Long Island has a simple plan for running for president: Be the last man standing.

Most presidential candidates have reasons and rationales about why they are running. They have a vision, hear a calling, tell stories of making the country stronger and safer for their children and their grandchildren.

Peter King, the gruff congressman from Long Island, has an anti-vision. He doesn’t so much want to be president as he wants to keep some of his Republican colleagues from being president.

“I am not kidding anyone,” King told The Daily Beast in an interview earlier this month just as Congress was settling back into session. “My main thing first of all is to take advantage of the opportunity with my name being mentioned to get out and speak about issues I care about, and secondly to make sure that the Rand Paul and Ted Cruz types don’t take over the Republican Party.”

As I've demonstrated many times in numerous articles, the motivation behind Establishment republicans is NEVER to oppose or thwart democrats or liberalism, but is to oppose and thwart conservatism...at all cost!

Yep. Graham, to keep a conservative from gaining the key momentum of a win in SC, and King to be the attack dog, tearing down the more conservative candidates so the GOPe prince doesn’t have to. (The latter is the role Ron Paul served in 2012.)

I suspect Peter Nutjob King could get most of his supporters together in a phone booth.

If he didn’t have media outlets like PMSNBC and the Daily Beast to spread his inanities, we would never hear from him.

Don’t forget Ben Carson and his slippery handler, Armstrong Williams.

Yeah, Armstrong is a bad bad choice by Carson. I’ve never heard him called slippery, but you may be right. He’s certainly incoherent at times, and still has a race chip on his shoulder, which doesn’t really play well with conservatives and doesn’t meld well with conservative thought.

He’s a shell-company front for the ‘minority’ owner of media properties. He also set Carson up to pitch fraudulent supplements.

Williams is bad news, even though he sings a conservative song.

He’s interviewed me before...on his radio show, which originates I believe from Columbia SC. He’s erratic, philosophically all over the place, and has a race chip IMO.

I don’t see Carson as guilty of any of this...Carson needs to upgrade his team. I know the head of Carson’s PAC - I think I’ll make a friendly suggestion....

Carson did go along with the bogus supplement promotion, but I haven’t known him to at least overtly play the racial crony capitalist game.

He lumps Ted Cruz in with Rand Paul as an isolationist? Does he need to be put into senior care?
