Jeffrey Epstein is back in the news at last. Epstein is a Florida-based hedge-fund manager who, having raked in billions, used his money and his organizational skills to set up an international pedophile network, shipping young girls by private plane to interested parties across the planet. The physically repulsive Epstein (he looks like a Satanic Fred Gwynne) got away with this for years thanks to his money and his social and political connections.
Implicated in his crimes is no less than Prince Andrew, the ne’er-do-well hustler scion of the British Royal house. Also involved is another member of the transatlantic social elite, Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s “companion” and daughter of press magnate Robert Maxwell, who allegedly acted as a procuress, selecting and grooming young girls for use by the network. It can be presumed that a large number of other notables were also involved.
Justice finally caught up with Epstein -- in a way -- when he was busted by the FBI in 2008. Evidence was irrefutable, but on finding Epstein guilty, an understanding judge worked out an 18-month sentence with attorney Alan Dershowitz -- Epstein served 13 -- and then with only nights spent in jail. He was free to roam during the day. (Dershowitz is now accused of sharing Epstein’s sexual activities. This is hard to evaluate -- it’s difficult to believe the canny Dershowitz would be so foolish. Another one of Epstein’s defenders was Kenneth Starr, once a moral arbiter but who has now clearly lost his bearings.)

This may have been common in the years of the Principate, but not so common during the Republic. When we speak of Imperial Rome, we usually mean the period after the fall of the Republic. There is no evidence that Crassus had any gay proclivities at all. Howard Fast, who wrote the novel on which Spartacus is based, disapproved of the scene in the movie. I think the "Crassus" of Spartacus was based more on the earlier Roman figure Lucius Cornelius Sulla. Sulla did become dictator of Rome, something Crassus never did.
He can get through this by writing a rambling diatribe, say it’s the word of some obscure pagan diety, and declare himself a prophet.

Definitions are important. What he did was terrible (and depending on circumstances perhaps illegal), but unless I am misinformed it did not invoke small children.

In the US for example, the age of consent ranges from 16 to 18. In some countries, it is much lower.
Yes..and reading the police complaint, he had sex with at least one 14-year old.
Which is statutory rape and makes him a sex offender...but that is not the same as pedophillia.
Consensual sex with a 14-yearly is terrible and criminal, but it is not the same legally as sexually abusing. 10 year-old.

The left has worked since the social revolution of the 60’s to normalize abnormal behavior within the American (and Western) culture. And they have succeeded. Sodomy and the various forms of homosexuality are now considered normal and, in fact, in many places to criticize such behavior could place you behind bars. Normalizing pedophilia is the next step.
You must admit those 60’s radicals are good in what they have done - they are now respected (by many )professors, politicians and clergy persons. I am an octogenarian and admit that my former self would have been willing to bet big money this would never have happened - but it did. Lord have mercy on us all.
Keep dreaming. The human penchant to cast aside morality in order to "fit in" is far too prevalent. Most people will go along with just about anything if the right pressure is applied.

Not at this point. If the history of ancient Israel’s decline and the writings of the prophets about that nation and others are taken seriously, one sees that the US is due for punishment and destruction. And God uses worse nations to cause it.

Homosexuality is a mental illness. If we are going to accept that mental illness then we will be accepting of other mental deviancies such as pedophilia, polygamy, bestiality, etc.
