Yes, it DOES matter if Bowe Bergdahl is a deserter

In a recent post at The Federalist, senior editor David Harsanyi noted that, based on recent reports from Fox News and NBC News, it appears as though the Defense Department is set to charge Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl with desertion: Leaving his post in Afghanistan in 2009 “in the middle of a combat zone, potentially putting the lives of his fellow soldiers at risk.”

For the record I was deployed to Afghanistan from October 2009 to September 2010; I arrived in-country after Bergdahl “went missing,” but remember hearing some scuttlebutt regarding the incident shortly after arriving from some guys who were there when it happened.

I tell you this because I want you to know – and I want Mr. Harsanyi to know – that what I am about to say is extremely biased, but it is a bias based on knowledge, experience and training.

” And, of course, there is the fact that Obama likely broke the law in making the deal because he did not give Congress the required 30-day notice.”

I’ve lost track of Obamacrimes.

If Bergdahl isn’t dealt with in the most severe manner, watch for the plummet in enlistment. Why should people who care about this country volunteer to serve under this Admin, who care nothing for those who serve?

The only person more deserving of a court-martial, conviction of high treason and a firing squad is John (I served in Viet Nam) Kerry!

Dude, I would like to know that there is a severe punishment for traitors. If someone is a deserter, the minimum should be that they are banned from serving in the military. This is perhaps the worst stain on the military in recent years, because how can one feel comfortable knowing that someone who betrayed you likely gets a hand slap on the wrist?

The White House will drag this out for two years and Bergdahl will get a presidential pardon when Obama leaves office.

Either way, I don’t want my kids or anyone I care about in such an institution where they practically reward traitors, when earlier, you would have gotten the firing squad, if not the threat of death and a possible pardon for it, and not be allowed to go back in.

Obama has broken broke long-established military and foreign policy, which states the U.S. (does not negotiate with terrorists). Also, considering that the five Gitmo prisoners Obama swapped for Bergdahl were all top-ranking Taliban commanders, there can be no doubt that the deal has harmed U.S. national security interests, as these men will no doubt return to the battlefield, and to think otherwise is the ultimate act of naivety. Finally, deals are not supposed to be fashioned in a manner that allows the enemy to exploit it for propaganda or other useful purposes; any serious assessment of this swap would determine that the Taliban have gotten quite a bit of mileage out of it, from a publicity and recruitment standpoint.

Regardless of who staged this, Ben Rhodes or Valerie Jarrett etc., O. and Bergdahl family hug fest...O. is the enemy. The Pentagon must not play in this mess...they are sworn to a much higher standard than the buffoons in the Oval Office...Call your Senators tell them Bergdahl pays like all traitors before him.

I am so upset with all the PC-dancing, word-redefining, bullsh!t propaganda that is being pass off as journalism to not say the obvious:

There is a person at the head of the US government that is not a citizen, and is at least muslim-controlled if not a total muslim himself, and is propagating a RADICAL MUSLIM AGENDA AGAINST THE UNITED STATES, ITS ALLIES, AND ITS CITIZENS!!!

People, wake up! Olympus has FALLEN! The Enemy is within the gates and he is buying weapons, cranking up the gas chambers, and sharpening their blades for us...IN THIS COUNRTY! Be-headings and crucifixions of "infidels" are occurring in the streets in the middle-east. Women and children are being raped and enslaved RIGHT NOW! And the perpetrators have openly stated that they want to BRING THIS HERE TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES!!!

Prepare for war, as it is coming on a Dark Horse through the ramparts that have been removed by BARACK HUSSAIN OBAMA for just this purpose...

With Obama in the White House, I expect traitors to be rewarded generously. Bowe Bergdahl should do very well off of his desertion, either through an Obama pardon and other direct rewards, or through indirect rewards from Obama's anti-American supporters.

It has already happened. Let’s not forget Collen Hufford who was beheaded by Alton Nolen in Oklahoma. He also attempted to behead a second victim Traci Johnson.

I read recently that they are seeking the death penalty in this case.

Obama was defeated and blackmailed at Benghazi. Once you pay the blackmailers ( he paid them money, weapons, armored vehicles, night vision equipment, and the promise of no retaliation) then you have to keep paying them. If you don’t, they’ll tell everything about what he did in Libya.
Every, EVERY terrorist attack now belongs to the Democrat Party.

Sleep... Bowe needs to spend some time at Leavenworth. When I was in Korea, we had to post perimeter guards dusk to dawn every night to walk the fences surrounding our air base. A perimeter guard would be in deep doo doo if he deserted like Bowe did.
I have no sympathy for this lowlife @zzwhole. Lock him up and throw away the key.
