You brought up a good point!

So if, one day, we could find something in fetal DNA that leads to a genetic propensity of a person becoming a monster (i.e.: rapist, serial murderer...something truly awful), at that point would we agree that abortion would be viable option?

To me, I guess it would depend on the percentage chance. I mean, if you could (somehow) prove that it was a 99.9999...% chance, I might be in favor of abortion.

I guess it depends on percentages (in this rather unlikely scenario I’ve put forward).

And acting on it is sin.

To my way of thinking, it is the acting on any temptation that transforms it from that to actual sin. Well said.

I would like to speed, but I resist the temptation (even to the point of not permitting myself to have a fast car). The idea of cheating on my taxes appeals to me, but I resist the temptation. The idea of 'being with' someone other than my spouse can also be appealing, but again, I resist the temptation.

In some ways, it isn't how you feel, it's what you do about it.

Recruiter: Now, are either of you homosexuals?

John Winger: [John and Russell look at each other] You mean, like, flaming, or...

Recruiter: Well, it's a standard question we have to ask.

Russell Ziskey: No, we're not homosexual, but we are *willing to learn*.

John Winger: Yeah, would they send us someplace special?

After seeing the picture of the bare assed assembly on the bench and then reading your remark as the next comment, I cracked up.

But I don’t think they wanted to rent such surly kids.

So if, one day, we could find something in fetal DNA that leads to a genetic propensity of a person becoming ...

... an Olympic caliber runner ... a math whiz or theoretical physicist ... an alcoholic or drug addict ... a person with a tendency to aggression ... a person with low/high IQ ... there ain't a foxhole deep enough.

Thanks. I’m trying to lose some weight and because of that picture, I will be skipping lunch today. We won’t even go into where my breakfast ended up!
