According to a very extensive poll by the CDC vital statistics showed the LGBT population at less than 2% of the US population. Even if they all married, that would be 1% of the population. That is so far down the list of vital statistics that SHOULD concern conservatives such as percentage of population on welfare, declining participation in the labor market, percentage of illegal aliens in population and their impact on welfare benefits, etc.

Making gay marriage a litmus test simply diminishes the importance of other issues which are truly important politically for the country.

But until and unless we get right with God morally, we’ll remain in His doghouse with His wrath falling on us. We can’t elect a pragmatic economic conservative and hope to turn things around. God is not mocked, and we’re mocking Him big time with our disobedience.

There’s therefore NOTHING more important to both personal and national blessing than to praise and glorify God. If we do that, all the economic blessings will be added unto us. See Matthew 6:33 in context.

Our Founders understood the simple formula for both individual and national blessing: Obedience to God. That’s why they purposefully wrote all our laws to be indistinguishable from God’s commands. And profoundly blessed we were, going from a tiny 13 colonies to a prosperous superpower. That prosperity is now gone, due to God’s wrath at our depraved disobedience to His Word. Disobedience to God has profoundly wrathful consequences. But we’re apparently not bright enough nowadays to realize what it would take to once again garner’s God’s blessings.

It is a perversion of the Constitution, not a small matter when you think about it.
