The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and Kobani-based activists say the Kurdish fighters managed on Monday to push back Islamic State militants from their remaining footholds in the eastern parts of the town.
By evening, the Kurdish fighters were celebrating and gunfire echoed across the town.

So is ISIS going to kill its fighters who fled the town?
Resistance works.
The Kurdish peshmerga is perhaps one of the most ruthless and tenacious fighting corps in the world, even meaner than the ISIS, taking few if any prisoners, and dispatching the enemy without ceremony or shows of mercy.
And ISIS understands this, in a way and with depths of certainty they would not even consider in conflict with the armies of most Western nations.

Obama can take no credit for the success of the Kurds, although he will try. On BBC a month ago there was a documentary of this group of fighters, including an all-female company of fighters. I was impressed.
I saw the video. They had Milan anti-tank weapons. Those suicide-tank trucks blow up real good!
The Iraqi Army and the Kurds are also approaching Mosul. Looks to be a tough year for ISIS.
Al they need to do now is nuke Raqqa.
