Climate change is not a concern for CEOs? That should keep us all awake
Guardian UK ^ | January 25, 2015

The first day of the World Economic Forum in Davos was dominated by calls for 2015 to be a year of action on climate change. But while some in the business community worry about sustainability, there is plenty of evidence that the vast bulk of business executives give it no consideration at all.

“We are seeing the accelerated impact of climate change,” World Bank boss Jim Yong Kim said in a speech on Wednesday. “Last year was the hottest on record. That matters. Extreme weather is real. It’s a complete no-brainer to move towards cleaner, more livable cities.”

Yet according to PwC’s 18th annual survey of global chief executives, climate change is not among the top 19 risks that keep them awake at night.

“Overregulation” is their top worry – government policies that interfere in business and undermine growth prospects. Skills, tax systems and cybersecurity are also among their concerns, but the future of the planet is not something that most chief executives lose sleep over.

“Last year was the hottest on record. That matters. Extreme weather is real. It’s a complete no-brainer to move towards cleaner, more livable cities.”

“Last year was the hottest on record.” A lie. NASA admitted the mistake.

“Extreme weather is real”. Sure it is. So what we have always had extreme weather. We had it before the industrial revolution and before man existed.

“It’s a complete no-brainer to move towards cleaner, more livable cities.” Sure it would be nice to have cleaner more livable cities. But are we going to deindustrialize the world to get them? If we do billions will die. How livable is that. Industry makes it possible for the world to support the 6 billion persons alive today. Without industry the world be sent back to the subsistence farming existence that mankind had in the middle ages.

Anthropomorphic Global Warming is a lie and it about time we get on to the real issues threatening the world like Socialism.

Since private jets don't have bumpers to put bumper stickers on, there's nothing CEO's can do.

You don't expect them to actually deprive themselves, do you?

I’ve been keeping a close watch on daily temps in my area. I started last winter. Last winter every day was either historical “normal” or below normal or way below normal for the daily high temperature. It is almost never above “normal”, ever. Same this year. It is always 5 -10 degrees below “normal” most if the time. Then a day slightly above(rain) then back to below “normal”. The average has to be going down.

From the article: “We are seeing the accelerated impact of climate change,”.

OK, Where? Prove it.

Problem is that they can’t.

“It’s a complete no-brainer to move towards cleaner, more livable cities.”

This is only possible in countries with no racial or ethnic diversity like Japan, China India etc. In the west we have diversity and from what I see the different races, ethnicity and religions do not mix well. I do not want to live in tight proximity to people that hate me for my skin color or that I have no respect for.

Geeeez. Maybe they’re more astute than previously thought. Or they saw these questions and the light went on:
1. Define the “correct” temperature range for the planet.

2. Define the “correct” humidity range for the planet.

3. Define the “correct” mean sea level for the planet’

4. Define the “correct” amount of precipitation for the planet.

5. Define the “correct” makeup of the atmosphere.

6. Define the “correct” amount of sea ice at the N/S poles.

7. Define/explain past glaciation and subsequent warming without any input from humans.

I’m sure there’s a lot that could be added to this list but it’s pretty basic.

The shrillness of the MMGW advocates is reaching the point of weird religious cultists, “But everyone *must* believe in Cthulhu, and he will destroy us all!!!” (inhales) “!!!!!!”

Sorry, you commies. Nobody except for soap-heads and bobble-head dolls are buying it anymore.

Most of the bad smog can be reduced with scrubbing an catalytic converters. Not all, but a pretty decent amount.

We could live in relative peace, but the liberals want the hate to keep going, because without it, most of the liberal ideologies are held by strings, called victim cards.
