Militants affiliated with the Islamic State group have posted an online warning that the "countdown has begun" for the group to kill a pair of Japanese hostages.

The posting which appeared Friday shows a clock counting down to zero along with gruesome images of other hostages who have been beheaded by the Islamic State group.

The militant group gave Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe a 72-hour deadline — which expired Friday — to pay a $200 million ransom for the two hostages.

The Japanese PM won't cave to the extremists, but it will probably cost him his two men who are held hostage.

At least one of the “hostages” is a boyfriend of a Jihadi according to some facebook posts attributed to him. I am not totally sure so don’t quote me on it, but i think this is another fake non-event.

“Japan can’t pay, it would start a never ending series of kidnappings.”

That is true. ISIS wants money so they would be trying to extract more and more money if Japan gave them what they wanted by getting more Japanese hostages. I wonder who many Japanese they could find? But I am sure they would find some more.

I wonder if there could be any way to prove that North Korea is kidnapping foreign nationals and handing them over to ISIS, with the understanding that ISIS would split ransom monies with North Korea to fund North Korea’s weapons program.
