WASHINGTON Republican lawmakers are facing rising pressure from conservative groups and activists to go big or potentially go home in their fight against ObamaCare.
After taking control of Congress thanks to big victories in the November midterms, Republicans who ran in part on their opposition to the law are starting to roll out legislation undoing pieces of it. But the party is stuck in an internal debate over how far they can really go risking a potential backlash from the partys right flank if they dont go far enough.
Tea Party activists say they are frustrated with the pace of progress toward conservatives goal of upending the Affordable Care Act.
Some activists are encouraging members to fax blast all 435 House members and 100 senators and demand they drive a stake through the heart of ObamaCare once and for all.
Some Tea Party-backed lawmakers like Texas Sen. Ted Cruz are leading the charge against the Affordable Care Act. The senator, and potential presidential candidate, recently warned that Republicans will get walloped in 2016 if they dont live up to their promises, including working to get the health law eliminated.
But so far, several Republican lawmakers, like Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, have indicated theyd have better luck chipping away at the law piece by piece.
On Wednesday, Hatch and Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., introduced legislation to repeal the health care laws individual mandate requiring most people to obtain insurance. The legislation, called the American Liberty Restoration Act, is backed by 20 GOP senators.
"This legislation strikes ObamaCares individual mandate and restores the freedoms outlined in the Constitution, Hatch said in a written statement.

Electing politicians is like a treaty with a foreign nation who could potentially hurt us. The “or else” should always be there. “Trust but verify” as Reagan said.
Make it politically profitable for even the wrong guy to do the right thing, as Milton Friedman said.
They can go big or go home. I will give up on the political process if Obamacare survives without systematic, intensive, and serious efforts to draw its fangs. If they get vetoed repeatedly on serious bills, I’m okay with that. If they don’t try, then FedGov is my enemy, and I don’t care who is leading my enemy.
But the party is stuck in an internal debate over how far they can really go...

There was no debate over how far to go when the repubs were campaigning. They were all for getting rid of obamacare entirely when they were soliciting our votes. All they need to do now is keep their promise.
They can live up to their campaign promises or get Cantored.
We have the recipe now, we just need to draft the candidates.
Operation Payback Primary.

Even if you make bigger government a little more efficient, you still face the inevitable corruption and eventually the domination of centralization. At some point we will elect a tyrant who will use the power of big government to enslave the people.
Repealing the individual mandate is a good start.
But, the employer mandate is what really has to go. It has been KILLING job creation in this country for the past 6 years.
Finally, the insurance coverage mandates have to go. It is making health insurance unaffordable for many that don’t want anything but catastrophic coverage.
The ACA was a pack of lies from the first and needs to be repealed entirely.
Or else indeed.
RESISTANCE is what is needed. Refusing to do what the regime says to do will kill this monstrosity.
Snoring Orin didn’t get the nickname Boobie Hatch because of his strength, rather the ability to always take the easy way out.
Orin talks tough, but make no mistake he likes his cognac at the Country club too.
Medical device tax, yada, yada, yada...
If they won’t even do THIS, we may as well sit back and let the Fake White Indian and her cohorts take over. Then after the Venezuela-style collapse, and the Chamber of Commerce coming back on their hands and knees to grovel before us, we can start the rebuilding.
Everything for Medtronic,
Nothing for Joe Welder and his $6000 deductible.
If they are not willing to shut the government down and defund and are not willing to impeach they might as well go home. So far they have indicated they are all talk and have told obama they are not going to defund or impeach so why are the Republicans even there in Congress?
If so, Lizzie Warren or Lezzie Clinton will landslide their way into La Casa Blanca.
And miss all those swell cocktail parties?
