Fix the wrong from 1993. Dont make a new wrong.
The individual States are making a lot of progress.
Last time an issue was federalized (defense of marriage act), the Dems used their authority on gaining power to gut the act.
We are more likely to sustain our outcome if we leave it to the lowest levels of power.
I prefer option 2. Take both that and family law away from them.
The bill was lawless, immoral and unconstitutional anyhow.
These sorts of bills grant an explicit license in the statute to kill babies, all of them, as long as the murders are accomplished on schedule and by the rules.
This is an obvious violation of the laws of nature and nature’s God, and the explicit, imperative requirements of the U.S. Constitution.
Of course the reasons these Republicans opposed the bill are bad too. But that doesn’t change the facts.
No it isn't.
All governments, at all levels, EXIST before anything else to protect the equal right of every person to live.
Neither the feds nor the states have any legitimate choice in this matter. All they have is DUTY.
Indeed so.
But they need to resolve the issue by destroying the cause of the problem.
I do not care if it takes them all summer to find the right solution to the problem.
Some resoulutions expressing dismay at the courts overstepping of its authority, its misuse of information, and its wrong headed decisions would do better.
Impeaching a few judges may also be a good start.
I see no way to save the republic unless and until we elect representatives who are willing to impeach and remove any and every judge who transgresses the laws of nature and nature’s God and the Constitution.
This is the second time in eight days that GOP Congresswoman Ellmers gave Conservatives the middle finger.
Last week she voted “No” on GOP legislation to defund Obama’s executive Amnesty.
Yesterday she withdrew as co-sponsor and voted "No" on the GOP late term abortion ban.
She's in her third term.
How come Democrats NEVER betray their Party, but Republicans pull this crap every month or two?
“How come Democrats NEVER betray their Party, but Republicans pull this crap every month or two? “
Because they’re confident that conservatives are a captive audience. Because conservatives act like the battered wives of American politics. Because they know that the money spigot from their corporatist cronies will continue to flow regardless. Because they know that most voters are LIV and vote based on what consonant follows their name. Because they know there will be no repercussions to their actions. Because they’re actively in cahoots with their so-called opponents.
And because they can.
The GOP just sucks up conservative votes and keeps the progressive train a rollin’ along.
One of the problems that lay ahead of the GOP doing the right thing (as though THAT could happen) is the Supremes would turn over any anti-abortion legislation as “unconstitutional”. That will be a slam dunk for the eugenicists once the Won appoints another judge, and could be the reason the GOP set up this fumble, to address it another day once His Arrogance gets his next judge in place.
I can see the excuses then; “We gave it our best shot, over rode the veto and everything.”
“Articles such as this do nothing but create discord and divisiveness within the GOP and has been used by the Democraps and the MSM for over 35 years.”
I concur. I however hold a different outlook for what comes of that division. The GOP needs to be divided and retired. If not now, when? They are completely ineffective. The Whig’s dissolution was a good thing, but it wasn’t painless. A GOP that goes along with the progressive agenda has got to go.
Harder times are coming, one way or the other.
The states (even California) have consistently chosen to outlaw homosexual marriage, only to have liberal judges, in some cases homosexuals themselves, overturn the will of the state’s people. It will probably be the same for abortion.
So lets fix the root of the problem. Remove the bad judges. Void their decisions. That is congress’s job.
It is time to start rolling back the Federal overreach.
I concur Pikachu_Dad, but I don’t see it happening. Something in the water inside the Beltway. What’s coming down will get millions killed if they don’t fix the water.
