The U.S. Armys commander in Europe will meet with Ukrainian defense officials to the discuss their military-to-military relationship just as the war-torn country wrestling with Russian supporters for control over a key airport in Donetsk.
Lt. Gen. Frederick Ben Hodges will travel to the country this week and take part in a series of high-level meetings with the officials, Pentagon spokesman Army Col. Steve Warren said. The group will discuss upcoming exercises and the U.S. militarys efforts to train and mentor the Ukrainian national guard, he said.

This is probably a symbolic ‘nothing’.
The meetings that we need to worry about are the ones that we have no knowledge of, and they likely don’t happen in person. War’s brewin’, and I think they are dammed determined to get one, no matter what.
Given what we’ve put our military through during the past 12 or so years, combined with the reductions/cutbacks, I’m not sure we’d be ready for a major conflict with other countries that have a credible fighting force and an REAL modern infrastructure. That’s why I’m afraid the nukes might start lighting off quicker than they otherwise would.
He could easily get killed.
Soon we will be hearing about American forces engaged in anti-terrorist operations in eastern Ukraine. Places with familiar names for old Nazi German army guys.
That’s what the Nazis called their operations in the same region. And nobody will bat an eye.
Hey, that's what we call our operations against Muslim jihadists. Ergo, Americans are Nazis, and Russians are re-fighting the Great Patriotic War (the original one of which they brought on themselves by helping the Germans conquer Western Europe via supplying the Wehrmacht and signing a non-aggression pact with them).
Keep your pants on there Spartacus. The moslem wars are not the same. And I see no crucial American interest in helping the EU expand its economic zone and to ensure full control over its gas suppliers.
I am not calling our forces Nazis jackass. Im saying that we should not be fighting battles on behalf of the EU, on the exact same battlefields as the Nazis fought the Soviets. I have no desire to see a new battle of Kharkov with us being the people from somewhere else.
And again, American military men are not the Nazis, even when our leaders are. I was one of them, I suspect you never were, so STFU zipperhead.
The good ole Nazi comparisons, way to go.
