WASPS??? Are you kidding me? Those are the exact people with their "foundations" and "trust fund" anarchists who are trying to tear this country down. The "WASPS" are the snobbish elites who summer in Cape Cod and winter in Florida.

As Rousseau discovered, the unreality of the scenario, far from being an impediment to moral smugness, was an invaluable asset. Reality, after all, has a way of impinging upon fantasy, clipping its wings, limiting its exuberance. So much the worse, then, for reality. As Bruckner notes, in this romance adepts “were not looking for a real world but the negation of their own. . . . An eternal vision is projected on these nations that has nothing to do with their real history.” .........

Both the old money Northeastern elite and the dominant ethnic group in the South and lower Midwest are white, Protestant, and of British ancestry. The latter group is disproportionately represented in combat units, a situation unchanged since the early 1800s, the exception being 1861-65. Chris Kyle, Carlos Hathcock, Audie Murphy, and Alvin York came from Anglo-Southern backgrounds. Southerners of British ancestry and Protestant religion may skew somewhat toward the Celtic side as opposed to the Puritan descendants, mostly of English ancestry, who were the main element in the pre-World War II ruling class in the Northeast. But both groups are equally white, Protestant, and of British descent.
