GOP Retreat: Rep. Jeff Denham Says Party’s Quietly Crafting Broad Immigration Bill
Breitbart ^ | Jan 15, 2015 | Jonathan Strong

The GOP’s most outspoken proponent of comprehensive immigration reform let loose in an interview with reporters here, detailing quiet efforts to draft far-reaching legislation, saying House leadership is “committed” to bringing the hot-button topics on the floor and criticizing President Obama for carrying out too many deportations.

“I think leadership’s commitment is not only to bring up immigration reform, but to bring it up in multiple different bills. The question is the timing of that and the sequence of those bills,” Denham said. (ed: CA Rep. Jeff Denham)

The revelation is important because shortly after the election, Speaker John Boehner warned Obama that moving ahead on executive actions called unconstitutional by Republicans, including Denham, would kill all chance of immigration reform.

Privately, some Republicans say the remarks were bluster for the camera, and even this week Boehner announced to members the House would soon be considering a border security bill, perhaps the first in a series of stand-alone measures.

The GOPe certainly won’t get much support in 2016 and beyond.

Since it is a GOPe bill, it will involve legalizing every alien in the country right away, and will secure the border in 20 years, or so. I just keep reminding myself, the worst Republican is 100 times better than the best Democrat. At least that is what I have been told here at Free Republic.

I don’t think they want to be in the majority. They sure do all they can to lose. Then they’ll blame it on the tea party for staying at home. In other words “We hate the racist tea party but we expect them to vote for us.”

If CONSERVATIVES really want to stop this crap, all they need are HUGE POSTERS of Eric Cantor.

Just go carrying those around, and the Republicans in the House will come to their senses.

This isn't a retreat - it's been the GOPe / Chamber of
Commerce plan from the beginning.

Well, look. We’re not viewing this right.

When you are a career politician - like hold OFFICE for a CAREER, and rely on the perks and money from that position to fund that nice home back in the burgs, and pay for the kids education, (very often several broods from several wives -you know, a guy needs variety) as well as keep you living in the lifestyle you so OBVIOUSLY deserve, you can’t afford to LOOSE THAT JOB, er elected position.

SO, when people like the US Chamber of Commerce, Goldman-Sachs, the Banksters, etc., come around and wave all those big bucks under your nose in return for giving them a LITTLE HELP with some small problems like a lot of cheap labor, you CAN’T allow all those narrow minded VOTERS to BOTHER you with their petty little problems, CAN YOU? AFTER ALL, you NEED that money (well, some of it anyway) to fund your CAMPAIGNS! !

Just open the dammed floodgates and get it over with already.

We ALL know what the inevitable conclusion is. (as disastrous as it may be)

Hell. Lets just declare Mexico as our 51st state, and they won’t even need to go anywhere. On the other hand, we could just give California to Mexico. I think that would be the better option.

I want a broad wall to keep out illegals - with several successive barriers (wall, fence, concertina wire, another wall), monitoring, and border patrol.

I want broad enforcement efforts, including fingerprinting and DNA swabs for all illegals, and a permanent ban on any legal reentry or path to citizenship for criminals who come here illegally.

I want broad enforcement efforts against employers who know or should have known that employees were illegals.

I don’t see any problem at all with a broad bill, just with the version that I expect to see from establishment republicans.

As a middle class working American, I see no representation for me.

The Dem leadership represents the extreme rich, the nutcase left and the FSArmy.

The Repub leadership represents the rich and is in total delusion in thinking Amnesty, which will create a permanent One Party State, will have the FSArmy voting Repub.
Never happen. Witness California where most all the legalized minorities vote Dem. The Calif Repub Party rarely wins any elections of consequence. The California situation of a permanent Dem majority will come to all other States with Amnesty...of which this next Amnesty with merely be the first of many Amnesties to make Dem voters out of an unending flood of FSArmy immigrants.

The Repub leadership can not be so stupid as to not see this elephant in the living room. Obviously they are sold out or something else, and have turned the former Republican Party in the democrat (small d) Party.

And we now live in effectively a One Party State.

As is said, a fish rots from the head down. There is no longer any opposition to Obama and the Dems.

McSurrender surrenders even without a fight.
Boner talks tough today, spreads them tomorrow.

When Romney, Denham, and the Repub leadership all pushing policies that will destroy the Repub Party and empower the Dems, you can be sure ordinary Americans have been betrayed.
