OTTAWA —The tie is broken: Stephen Harper’s Conservatives have pulled out in front of the Liberals — and they could be sitting on the cusp of majority territory, according to the most recent Ipsos Reid poll conducted exclusively for Global News.
This is the year Canadians will elect a new government, and the Conservatives have started it off with an overtaking of Justin Trudeau’s Liberals. The two parties ended 2014 neck and neck, after the Conservatives had spent a couple of months rallying from behind.
Although a four-point lead may not look like much, it could be enough for a majority when the 30 additional seats in the mix for 2015 are taken into consideration, said John Wright, senior vice president at Ipsos Reid.

I was reading the other month about all the new seats being added for the next election. It adds a new dimension to the picture.
Justin Trudeau doesn’t seem to impress me based on the videos I’ve seen, but any sudden dramatic economic swings will upset electorates in any country.
Canada moves right, we move hard left.

Justin Trudeau has about the same qualifications to be PM of Canada, as Chelsea Clinton has to be President of the U.S.A.
I thought Canadian politics were opposite American: American Right is Canadian Left. Or is that only Europe?
New seats go to fast-growing Ontario, Quebec, Alberta and British Columbia.
The West and Ontario will have more seats in the House Of Commons relative to other provinces.
It was always going to be an uphill battle for the Liberals who have only 39 seats in Parliament.
Oh crap. This is about Canada. Good on them, but when I saw the title, I’d hoped this was an outlier good news poll for the USA.
Kinda looks like Bob Rae to me. That's the kind of crowd he would hang around with.
The good news is that Obamacare is killing the Democrats.
