238,000: Number of NYC [Migrants] Who Can Stay Under Obama's Order

[Paraphrase]: There are 643,000 illegal residents in New York City, and 238,000 would be eligible for Obama's executive amnesty

The totals by borough:

Manhattan: 25,000
Brooklyn: 71,000
Bronx: 43,000
Queens: 91,000
Staten Island: 8,000

This is 37 percent of the illegals who are here in NYC.

Sorry I could not figure out how to post the article from the AM New York website. Maybe someone else can figure it out. There are further interesting facts in the article, but not as dramatic as the numbers.

The other papers are reporting the enormous demand for the mayor's ID card, which you could sign up for starting yesterday, but they did not quote these figures from the Migration Policy Institute. The free handout paper has them.

The website for signing up for an ID card stopped working, and the lines were so long that the city decided to institute an appointment process, similar to the one you can use at the DMV.

I don’t know what the figures for NY State are. I know the border states have a big problem.

People come here for the benefits, and of course for the job opportunities as well such as they are. The benefits are what will hurt the city most. I think the ID card will make that situation much worse.

The DMV nondriver ID is one of the hardest documents to get. You need a Social Security card, but to get a Social Security card replacement, if you have lost yours, you need a DMV ID. I’m still scratching my head over that one.

If you are a border jumper or a visa violator, on the other hands, all you have to do is wait in line.

Another good reason to leave NYC.

NYC is a septic tank of WEALTHY LIBTARDS and parasites...
the city itself is a parasite which gets support from NY state taxpayers and cant support its own liberal programs and free stuff... Why people love to go there is beyond me. Overpriced and hype for rednecks and goofy foreigners with hot money...
Unions, organized crime and crooked politicians run the septic tank.... The public education system sucks and bad teachers can tbe disposed of due to tenure. The UN scumbags infest the city from time to time and the biggest crooks inhabit the fed and wall street (although a large portion moved out after 9/11).. NYC is a joke on the world... a mecca for idiots, crooks and greedy. Riding public transport is like riding a cattle car reeking odor and communicable disease. It does have many great museums.

If only we had more rednecks! No sarcasm here, I really mean it.

By the way, a French guy told me that when he was in high school in Paris, they went on a field trip to a different art museum every week. Great cities are not for the faint of heart!
