Some Swiss banks have stopped dispensing Euros, likely because they have no idea how many Francs they are going to lose by doing so, until things settle.

I snicker a little when people say, “ATM machine.”

Same problem here. I can never get euros from the local ATMs.

Think I will go take $100 out of the bank. You know, just to slide under the mattress.

Clearly, the ATMs are smarter than the EU.

The Swiss will have to follow the crowd by fiat printing, they’re just too small to compete with the euro. Although the Swiss make a lot of luxury items that are less price sensitive than other manufactured goods, they do lose business when local Swiss residents contract out their construction work with Italians for example. Tourism also suffers.
Now, if the euro zone breaks up and smaller currencies emerge, they will be in a better position to compete.
One good thing about Swiss currency is that they have a 1000 CHF note which is equal to $1100 or so. That makes it a high store of value for its weight.
