Norquist pushes immigration reform to Hill GOP

Conservatives backing immigration reform aren’t quite done trying to lobby Hill Republicans on an overhaul.

Key leaders on the right, including anti-tax activist Grover Norquist, will host a briefing for lawmakers and aides on the Hill on Tuesday to provide information from “trusted conservatives” about how to tackle immigration reform from a “faith, law enforcement and business perspective,” according to a notice obtained by POLITICO.

Story Continued Below

.

. “We all know the struggles our broken immigration system causes our nation,” Norquist, along with the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission’s Barrett Duke, wrote in the email sent to congressional offices. “Under Republican leadership, the 114th Congress has an incredible opportunity to correct these problems.”

The Republican-led Congress is unlikely to take up the kinds of sweeping reforms to the current immigration system that the Democratic-controlled Senate passed in 2013. For now, GOP lawmakers have been focused on killing President Barack Obama’s executive action on immigration; House Republicans will fire the opening salvo in that fight this week with votes to gut the actions tied to a funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security.

Speakers at the Capitol Visitor Center include Norquist, Duke, Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller and Laura Foote Reiff, the chairwoman of the National Immigration Forum’s board. It’s particularly noteworthy that Zoeller is involved, considering Indiana is part of a lawsuit from two dozen states, led by Texas, that argues Obama’s executive actions are unconstitutional. That case gets a hearing Thursday in federal court in Brownsville, Texas.

“Grover Al Norquist is no conservative.”
***************************************************************************
He absolutely is not a conservative. He’s a Muslim friendly proponent of open borders and most definitely does NOT have the interests of America and American citizens at heart. He’s part of the pack of wolves in sheep’s clothing that pose as conservatives to make themselves wealthy and to advance the interests of those who fund them (e.g., the Saudis and the Chamber of Commerce looking for low wage employees).

“We all know the struggles our broken immigration system causes our nation,” Norquist...

Grover, tell us exactly how our immigration system is broken. Tell us. Other than one President after another refusing to enforce immigration laws.

And the informed person knows, that Comprehensive Immigration Reform does nothing to fix the broken system.

So Grover, once you've told us how the system is broken, tell us how you are going to fix it. Up to now "broken system" is a well-used empty phrase used by illegal invasion advocates, well, like yourself, Grover.

Who Made Who

Here again Obama is claiming that the states don’t have standing to challenge his “executive action,” arguing federal preemption or ‘I am the state’.

The states created the federal government, not vice versa as statists seem to believe. One of the salient reasons for the creation of a central government was to coordinate defense by the states from foreign invasion.
It was not created to protect unsophisticated consumers from themselves, to name just one area where the feds have metastasized.

Obama and Co. take the untenable position that their job is to facilitate an ongoing invasion, and implicitly, that we can be dictated to be foreigners.

We conservatives have been arguing that the system is broken for many years. The 1986 amnesty was a mistake.
Obama has done us the favor of placing these systemic failures under a spotlight.
And Norquist offers no solutions. He’s a part of the problem. Making another mistake is no solution.
If the Justice department won’t enforce the law—federal law—and we know they will not, Congress must take “legislative action” and defund a lawless administration, unless they are prepared to cede yet another function to a runaway executive branch.

Few in the GOP have the courage to call him out. Most notably is Michele Bachmann and you see how quickly she was attacked for doing so.

It irritates the hell out of me to see FReepers flapping their gums about the muslim brotherhood in the Obama white house while refusing to acknowledge that the GOP has the same problem when they run the show.
