“I expect that will soon give sell oil rights for the next 20-50 years just to try and head off the inevitable.”

The already did that, they owe oil to China on the money they borrowed.

Venezuela is certainly on the ropes. Their Socialist economy will not survive.

On the other hand Russia is a little more tricky since they are economically, like China , Capitalist.

Moreover, China is helping them out, and getting dirt cheap oil while they are at it.

There's a reason why China went on a capitalist economic reform starting in 1979--Deng Xiaopeng and Chinese political leaders of his generation saw firsthand the misguided Communist economic policies that caused the horrors of the Great Leap Forward between 1958 and 1963 and were determined to get away from that debacle.

This is why I think once the Castro brothers leave the political scene from Cuba, you will see Cuba turn into Western Hemisphere equivalent of China--probably within ten years! The Cubans very well know that they are sitting on a gigantic economic gold mine and they're not going squander that potential.

Hopefully Chavez has a ringside view from his seat in Hell.

I wonder if he can still smell the sulfur.

Milton Friedman once said that, if you put the government in charge of the Sahara desert, there’ll eventually be a shortage of sand. No wonder that, after 14 years of socialist government, Venezuela — the country with the world’s largest oil reserves — is currently importing gasoline, and there are shortages of everything else.

Surely those people know that by the time they get to the front of the line there won’t be anything left.

I’m not sure another dictator won’t take Castro’s place.

Every time, every freakin’ time, socialism is tried, shortages like this happen... And yet, it still continues to be tried.

We haven't tried it yet in the United States. Our Socialists are smarter, more compassionate, more educated than the others who went before. They will make it work this time...

Just watch...

“One of the first agreements was signed with the American company Chevron in May 2013. The deal included a $2 billion loan by Chevron to Pdvsa to cover the state oil company’s portion of investment in an oil field across Lake Maracaibo from Mene Grande.

But it also included provisions sought by Chevron to guarantee that the new loan, as well as millions of dollars in unpaid dividends from past operations, would be paid promptly from oil revenues...”

This almost sounds hopeful, but I pinch myself and remind myself that alas, Chevron is probably not really an “American” oil company. It may have some good Americans working for it, but I suspect its upper echelons are very much in alignment with the ptb. I DO hope I’m wrong.

Every time, every freakin’ time, socialism is tried, shortages like this happen. Every mother loving time. And yet, it still continues to be tried. Amazing.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome.
