Tablet has one of the best articles I've seen from Paris, capturing the mood of French Jews--and the meaning for them of the state of Israel. Here are excerpts:
Anyone who wants to understand how the Jews of Franceand most other places in the Diaspora, including the United Statesfeel inside, especially at times when we are targeted by men with guns who represent a radical, fascistic ideology bent on killing us, should take a look at these two videos from the Grand Synagogue of Paris after a solidarity rally that brought an estimated 1.5 million people into the streets to declare their support for free speech and their opposition to Islamist terrorism.
The first video shows the entrance of French President François Hollande to the Grand Synagogue, followed 40 seconds or so later by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who unlike Hollande is greeted by loud and spontaneous cheering.

The antagonists do not give two hoots in a handbag for these “rallies”.
What I’d like to see?
Mossad going targeting EU Jew killers.
Did a Jihadi attend your sermons or mosque before committing an atrocity, Mr. Imam? Sorry, but we will be coming for you.
You would see a lot of second guessing among these cowards about what they say and who they support - if they knew their were real consequences.
I agree with you. It is not right that the triggermen die, but the men who incited them skate free. They should see to it that the imam also pays the price.
French Intelligence would probably know if Mossad was killing people in France. Hollande won’t allow it.
The current French Administration (the Socialists) got 93% of the muslim vote last election - they are in bed with them, and scrambling to finesse the politics of the current tidal wave of public opinion. Hollande had a 12% approval rating last November, and the Socialists got their lowest ever ratings.
It would be a revolution if Hollande turns on the Islamists in his coalition, but it would be pretty comparable to Obama turning on African-American race baiters in his coalition.
Perhaps his political situation is desperate enough for him to make a bold re-alignment. This will probably be the moment of greatest opportunity during his rule, but I would not bet on a hard leftie doing the right thing.
