Huh??? Passenger jets are pressurized to the air pressure at 8000 feet. If that pressure were to somehow to be maintained, the air pressure at sea level would HIGHER than that inside the airplane, and it would collapse, not explode.

Totally illogical reasoning on your part. To maintain an 8,000 altitude pressure at sea level the plane’s systems would have to suck air out of the airplane. I don’t think they do that. In fact, I am sure of it.
