Pray for Our American Heroes and Nation

Holy Lord,

How grateful we are that Your Son, Jesus Christ, was sent as a ransom for all. Thank You that He is now seated at Your right hand, ever making intercession for us. Father, we praise You and adore You----the One Who lives and reigns forever. All honor, glory, power, and blessing belong to You, Precious Lord.

Father, we know that Your desire is that all people be saved. In faith we pray for the salvation of every man and woman serving in our military forces, Lord, that none would perish but that all would come to repentance. We ask You to draw them through the power of Your Holy Spirit, calling them to You. Help them to confess their sins, for You are faithful and just to forgive them and to cleanse them from all unrighteousness. Bring people into their lives who will share the Gospel with them, as instruments of Your light and truth. Help these faithful servants to become not just believers, but followers of Jesus Christ.

Father, during these times of great trial when those who confess Jesus Christ are hated by others, please keep us all strong and faithful. You have not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and love, and soundness of mind. Lord, keep us faithful in the little things, that we may be faithful in the greater things as well. Protect us from those who seek our destruction, and help us to daily put on the full armor of God.

Thank You for blessing America, Father God. Our nation is far from perfect, but we have so much for which to be thankful. Thank You that we can still worship You and praise Your Name in public and in private. Thank You for being our God and King---our Victory. In the Name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

IN THE COLDEST and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered his prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting Glory, and bestowed His Manifold Blessings upon the new Nation.

FROM THE BRAVE, albeit weary, ill-equipped, and untrained volunteers who marched into Valley Forge on 19 December 1777 arose, with the help of some gallant friends from across the waves, the cohesive fighting force that became the United States Army, global defender of Freedom and scourge of Tyrants.



AS GENERAL WASHINGTON lifted his prayers on high in that bleak Winter, let our prayers now rise like a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and gather them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.
