My daughter had insurance, and needed a one day hospital stay after someone ran a red light and totaled her car, giving her minor injuries.

No wonder Americans are ready to revolt. If your insurance paperwork is not in complete order, the hospital costs can ruin you financially in just 24 hours.

But for the illegals, it is "free."

In Texas you could always go to an emergency room for treatment and it would cost you nothing. I don’t know if that is still the case anymore, I certainly hope so.

Having worked doing returns at HR Block I can agree with you. Low income earners get back huge refunds and they depend on this money, they expect this money, they feel ENTITLED to this money (which is not a real tax refund but really just a welfare payment). When the tax preparer goes over the numbers at the end and point out that the IRS is about to take away a big chunk of that free money they’ve been getting, it will get ugly. Since the filer in question will not understand why the “free” healthcare they didn’t even sign up for is now costing them a lot of money they will get frustrated and angry and VOCAL. Even if they do signup the following year in order to not have their “refund” Grubered again they will soon discover that even with a subsidy they are still going to be paying much more out of pocket for healthcare they used to get for “free” at the local hospital’s Emergency Room. They will then drop out of Obamacare and then boom, they’ll get their ass robbed again come tax time! My heart goes out to all the tax preparers out there. It’s going to go from H&R Block to H&R Glock real fast.

For one thing, in order for the health reform law to be successful, it'll need people that enroll to actually continue paying their premium

At last they've dropped the crap about Obamacare being about actual health care for people.

Exactly. When Obama got on TV and promised everybody something for "free" - and that the OTHER guy would pick up the tab, not them - they were all for it.

I agree those are big factors, but bigger is the removal of Health Care from free (and / or fair) market forces. The cost of college education is a similar story, in that regard.

The medical sharing plans are much cheaper (on a monthly basis at least) and are o-care approved.

Really? I had not seen that. I so wish Orwell could have lived to comment on this insanity.

He is doing great as a “gavinator.”

Responses:

A) No need to read everything in the plan documents, Congress didn’t read the law before it was passed.

B) That’s where you sign right there, and auto debit is here.

C) If you have any questions call this number
