Governor Dayton wants to build billions of dollars worth of roads and bridges during the next 10 years, but he's not doing much bridge-building with House Republicans. At a news conference, he slammed their $750 million transportation plan that doesn't call for any new taxes.
"The panel of experts I convened said there's a $6 billion shortfall over the next 10 years and their response yesterday was $200 million from the general fund and $550 million from la-la land," Dayton told reporters at a news conference Friday morning.
Dayton also accused Republicans of not even wanting to solve the problem.

The feds are like the mob, they take the tax money and charge (use) 30% of it just to figure out how much the states get back. The feds need to get out of everybody’s business, the congress needs to shrink the executive branch and return states their sovereignty.
Infrastructure should be taken away from the feds for the most part.
Isn’t there anything left from Hussein’s $7 TRILLION in porkulus?
Which granted power of Congress is involved here?
Post offices and post roads?
The stimulus stimulated a LOT of prosperity for regime affiliates.
Lots, but you have to fly to Switzerland to get it.

It’s never enough for Marx Dayton and his merry band of socialists.
The writer of “More employed?” (Jan. 4) seems to be missing the very point of public goods, those provided by the government, our government, for the benefit of all.
Public roads and public transportation are perfect examples. Good public roads allow both the corn and dairy farmers to get their goods to market. Good public transportation allows both 3Mers and Medtronic employees to get to work. What does the writer propose? That corn and dairy farmers each build their own private network of roads? That 3M and Medtronic set up their own private employee shuttles?
When it comes to public roads and transportation, our government CAN spend money more wisely and efficiently than if those dollars were left in the hands of the private sector. It’s up to us as citizens to ensure they do so. It’s not up to us as citizens to minimize the need to pay taxes in the first place, or to demonize government bureaucrats.

leftists believe all gubmint spending is a ‘public good’
Dayton is dumb as a bag of rocks and glassy-eyed from his anti-psychotic drugs. I am surprised he ran for reelection. I doubt that he is enjoying it as he is vastly unequipped mentally and psychologically to fill the job.
