I think in world history it’s almost unprecedented for a country to be devoting so much MOUTH-share to this concept while being completely powerless to stop an invasion by CHILDREN.
For those two things to exist side-by-side is ABSURD.

To answer my own question, I suspect our Ultra Liberal "negotiators" go into these negotiations not with an attitude of protecting the American citizens and taxpayers, but with a generous bleeding heart position willing to give away far more than they expect to get. Instead of realizing that we have the upper hand, and we don't have to give an inch, it's known our side is represented by a bunch of wussies and fools, and it's the Mexicans who drive the hard bargain. For every unskilled Mexican driver on the road, an American life is in jeopardy. As usual, we're being sold out by our own government!
Of course it had to be that NAFTA was a one-way street...

This is the beginning of the end for U. S. long haul truckers.
These Mexican trucks won’t be empty going back along the delivery route. U. S. truckers will lose cargo loads to these empty trucks because they’ll be able to undercut their fees.
What really sucks about these types of things, is that almost anyone can see the end results, except the guys in Washington who set this mess up.
Don’t be surprised when a truck making a delivery to Kansas City returns to Mexico through Los Angeles, Seattle, or New York City.
My solution to this poor rockfish is 450f for about 20 minutes.
They have flooded California highways for years violating our safety and air polution laws with impunity!
A friend of mine had to go out of business as of January 1 because his heavy equipment hauling semi can no longer comply with the smog laws but it can operate in any other State.
