Georgia speed traps are horrendous. I’ve personally witnessed the use of bait cars. Its about revenue and not safety.

I saw something once in Corrales, New Mexico (notorious speed trap town) that made me wonder. There was a line of cars going down the main road at about 20 mph (limit was 35). The second car's driver decided he'd had enough and went to pass the slowpoke. A motor cop about two cars behind me whipped out and pulled the guy over in about two seconds flat.

There were some speed traps many years here in my town, where the cops set at the bottom of of some hills. You practically had to ride your brakes all the way down so you were able to keep the speed limit. One of the judges here in our courthouse made them stop.
