Lower gas prices = less gas taxes collected = gotta raise taxes elsewhere
Aren’t gas taxes calculated on the number of gallons sold and not the dollar amount sold? Lower price will mean more gallons sold and more gas tax. I think this “carbon” tax is just a way to put a new tax in place while the price of gas is falling and thus won’t be noticed.
In addition to per mile tax and mileage tracking devices being made mandatory on vehicles.
