The 2015 presidential campaign yes, 2015 isnt a hunt for votes.
At least 23 credible political figures are considering running for the two major-party nominations. And theyre all hunting for the magic concoction of money, attention and friends that could vault them into the top tier in the next 12 months, by the time the first voting starts in caucuses and primaries.
Heres a look at what to watch for:
MONEY
Bulging donor lists intimidate less well-heeled candidates. Those without money or fat cat friends usually drop out or get left behind. In summer 1999, for example, Elizabeth Dole began to surge, then quickly left the race, unable to keep up with George W. Bushs big bucks.
Best bets for cash: Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republicans Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, Ted Cruz, Rick Perry, Mitt Romney and Marco Rubio. All have big names and come from big states with lots of contributors.
Shaky bets: Among Democrats, everyone but Clinton. In the Republican race, Rick Santorum did well for awhile in 2012, but may find it difficult to get 2016 money in a crowded field. Similarly, Mike Huckabee found money woes hurting his 2008 run.
POLLS
Get that bandwagon effect going and voters may jump on board. Polls mean the most late in the year, once the debate season begins and voters pay more attention.
Till then, the most recognizable names get the most mentions. Early in 2007, Rudy Giuliani was the Republican front-runner. Four years earlier, Joe Lieberman led the Democratic pack.
Best bets: Clinton, plus Bush, Christie, Huckabee and Rand Paul, will dominate till the fall....

Let me know when Scott Walker announces. Right now, he gets my money.
I will raise $2million dollars for Ted Cruz and/or Sarah Palin should they run. I will vote for Walker should he get the nomination unless there’s something about him I’m not now aware of.
Let me know when Obama tells them all to drop out and save their money as he is not going to quit being dictator at least in the near future.

I don’t think that Obama intends to leave,at least quietly.
I know I’ve said this to you, but for the benefit of others reading this thread:
Walker, a conservative Republican, has won three elections in five years (statewide) in a state that has voted for the Democrat in the last 4 contests.
He is a governor, which means he has executive experience.
He is young, which means he can connect with multiple generations.
He is more conservative than almost any Republican governor out there. (Mike Pence, who is also a good guy, is in a Republican state. Obama’s win there in 2008 was a fluke.)
